Homefront May Day Give Away!

Who doesn't like free stuff? And free, high quality, hand made items from a fantastic group of talented military spouses is even better!
From May 1st through the 15th Etsy Homefront Team is having a give away involving 19 wonderful shops!
You can see all the items available to win and official rules at the Homefront blog

The basic run down of this give away is that you click on the shop name of the items you would like to be entered for and enter each individual shop by writing the shop owner stating that you would like to be entered into their May Day Give Away. One entry per shop. So you can enter in all 19 shops giving you a chance to win all the fabulous items!

Hopefully you'll take a peek around at our shops, read our profiles and perhaps our blogs and get a feel for each of our shops and ourselves. :) We certainly hope you like what you see and visit our blogs and shops again in the future. It's a wonderful way to discover shops you never knew existed and may come to love. And throughout this entire process you are helping support a team of talented military spouses from all branches of the military and from all walks of life.
We're young and old and of all different nationalities but the one tie that binds us is that our loved ones have and do serve this wonderful country.

I hope you'll take the time to check out the Homefront blog, take a peek at our shops and enter in to win some great items!

And if you're entering my give away you will have a chance to recieve a set of red, white and blue hair clippies! Beautiful tiny bows made from high quality gosgrain ribbon on rully lined alligator clips. Perfect for holding back wispys or adorning pig tails and braids.
These clips are great for Memorial Day, the 4th of July, deployment homecomings or any other patriotic event you may be attending!

I will notify the winner from my shop on the 18th by email so be sure to send me your address. I will also post my winner in my shop announcement. All winnners will be posted on the Homefront Street Team blog.

I look forward to recieving your entry and good luck!

New Etsy Homefront Treasuries

I stayed up until 1 a.m. last night with hopes of snagging a treasury for Etsy Homefront and, thankfully, managed to do so. :)
It had been raining here in VA for the past several days and I was dreaming, hoping and praying for sunshine. If you can't have it in the real world you might as well enjoy it through a treasury.
View Sunny Days here...

Another great Homefront member, Bethjt, managed to snag another great Homefront treasury as well.
View Soft Pinks and Yummy Browns here...

Thumbs is not working for me today so I'm not able to utilize the newly found skill of apply it to my blog today. :(
So I apologize for the links. Although what is behind them is surely worth the anticpation. :)

Featured in Treasury West

My pool side duo clippies are being featured in Treasury West. Thank you to Bethjt, , for another great Homefront treasury!
You can view the Treasury here. Please comment and click and give Homefront the exposure it deserves!

Touching base.

Feels like it has been a while since I've sat down and truly blogged. I have been busy creating new bows, enjoying beautiful weather and spending time with my children and hubby. :)

I did buy a bunch of new ribbon and have a lot of wonderful plans for new pieces coming soon. I really enjoy making the matching sets of 5 or so clippies and there will be plenty more in the shop at the start of next week.
As for my project that I blogged about a few posts back, I haven't done much more with it lately. Life, per usual, has gotten in the way and I haven't had as much time as necessary to work on it.
Hopefully I will kick that off soon as I have a lot of more great ideas that I want to incorporate into the shop that I haven't done so yet. One thing at a time. :)

As you know I snagged two treasuries for homefront. Please be sure to check those out in my previous post. Leave comments and click on the beautiful items and shop around. :)
And this morning I woke up to be pleasantly surprised that I was featured in a treasury as well. When Treasury West wants to work for me I'll post more about it then.

Also, I restarted my sale that I've been doing at the begining of each week. Buy 4 items get the 5th free and recieve free shipping to the US! Sale is ending Tuesday evening so check out the new items and snag what you can. :) I'll be adding a few more pieces today so be sure to check them out. And be sure to check Homefront for great sales tonight starting at 6 pm! Come in, chat and look around. We'd love to have you! And keep an eye out for future Homefront promotions. We have a lot of exciting things happening in our team that is sure to not disappoint!

Beautiful weather!

Gorgeous weather like the kind we've been having here lately in Virginia is a huge distraction from work. :) 85 degrees and sunny!

That means I've been spending the majority of my time outside, playing with my kids, making chalk masterpieces and blowing bubbles.

Although I did manage to add a few new listings today. No surprise that they are a perfect match for summer. You can certainly tell my mind is inspired by the warmth of the sun, the smells of bbq's and the sounds of croaking frogs. :)

Busy Bee

The last few days have been a wild rush in my home. I've been getting my home ready for company to come visit. My parents will be arriving today in DC and staying with us until Sunday. My family is very excited to be able to see family but we are all running around like mad men trying to get everything in tip top shape.
For those of you who know me, you know that I run a tight ship. My house is generally spotless but when guests come to stay I go crazy. Dusting baseboards, shampooing carpets, the whole nine yards.
So I haven't had a ton of time to add items to my shop. :( But last night I did take some time out to work on a project that I've been wanting to do for my shop since before I ever opened up a shop. :)
I'm not ready to post the items I've been working on just yet but I am very excited at their prospect since they are not being sold on Etsy, anywhere! Trust me, I've been searching for them for months. I will be the only one carrying these. I'm not going to disclose them yet you'll just have to keep checking the shop for their arrival but I will definately make a post welcoming them to the shop and telling you all about them and how they came to be.
Until then you will just have to wonder and wait. :)
Hopefully they will be joining the shop mid next week after my parents have finished their visit and I've had time to complete them.

Also just wanted to let everyone know that I won't be blogging for a few days. With the parents in town the husband and I finally get to do some kid free activities so we are going to Busch Gardens! All will be back up and running come Monday.

Have a great rest of the week!

Small introduction

I am Emily, the stay at home mama behind Ella-Bear Bowtique. I make hand crafted lovelies for the little one's in your life. Please check out my Etsy store at

I am new to blogger but not the blogging world as and myself have an on going affair for the past 8 years and on for the past 3 years. It was time to expand the blogging family tree, insert here. :)

In 2004 my husband deployed, for the first time, to Iraq. Being a newly married couple this separation was obviously hard on me and I turned to crafting to consume the long lonely hours. I had always done crafts here and there as a child and adolescent. Cross stitch, embroidery, sewing and quilting. In 2004 I took up crochet and fell in love. Making blankets and scarves for anyone that would accept one. It kept my mind and my hands busy and soon my husband returned home. Shortly after we had our first baby girl, Ella who is the inspiration for Ella-Bear Bowtique. I started making my own burpies, blankets and accessories for my daughter because the onslaught of run of the mill items just wasn't good enough for our baby girl. Shortly after Ella was born we were pregnant again and eventually welcomed our second child, Connor into the world. They have both been a joy and have certainly kept me busy these past two and a half years. Now that they are toddlers I am finding a little, not much, more time on my hands and have again turned to crafting. This time making the same lovelies I did for my own children and have chosen as the perfect venue to share my creations with you! As of now I have only listed the beautiful hair bows that my daughter inspires. I hand sew all of my bows and heat seal all ribbon ends, even those you don't see, to make sure you are getting the best quality product possible.

In the next coming month I will be listing blankets, burpies, tutus and more! So be sure to add to your favorites on etsy and my blog here and check back often to see what I'm up to!
